All For You - Drabble
A drabble is a piece of fiction constrained to exactly one-hundred words. I use these short works to hone my brevity.
My first lover left a curse upon me.
To be aimless and dissatisfied with mortal desires.
I was long convinced they would be the last lover, too.
Too many dears lost to circumstance.
Then she came along. I gave her my heart.
We tugged on heart strings until she found herself in my inner sanctum.
She offered.
I took everything.
How do you break a curse?
At a cost and with love.
One step at a time.
Until the shackles are cast free and we can say
"I am freer now, bound to you."
Better that we choose our bonds.
