The Kind Lady With a Sword - Drabble

A drabble is a piece of fiction constrained to exactly one-hundred words. I use these short works to hone my brevity.

The kind lady with a sword sought camaraderie across the lands.
After years of solitary searching, she found a demonic prince.
She was eager to serve anyone, anything.
When she sat on his lap the demon would stroke her cheek and tell her how he hated her.
He made enemies wherever he went, and she was sworn to defend.
Her kindness shrivelled up with her bloodied blade.
She sought comfort with her demon, whose touch was often gentle whilst his words barbed her.
She chose to believe in his goodness, though veiled by his cruelty.
She stayed by his side.
